Welcome to the Somerdale online consultation
The redevelopment of this brownfield site provides an exciting opportunity to create a mixed use vibrant community and an attractive and integrated new quarter for Keynsham.
Taylor Wimpey Bristol has been selected as the preferred developer and together with a team of consultants is working closely with local people, through a series of meetings, workshops and exhibitions to put together proposals for how the site could be developed.
The vision for this iconic site is to create a vibrant place which will be a local asset for Keynsham providing much needed new homes, employment opportunities, sports facilities, formal and informal open spaces, as well as other community facilities.
This website has been set up as another way, in addition to face-to-face communication, of keeping everyone informed of the progress we are making with the proposals and for receiving feedback. As the process and our proposals develop we will update this website to keep everyone informed.
For several months, we have been meeting and listening to local people to understand their views for the redevelopment of the Somerdale site. We have held one to one meetings and two workshops with local residents, business people, councillors, and representatives from local interest groups. We also held a second public exhibition on 19 and 20 February where the latest proposals for the site went on display so everyone in the local community could see the plans and offer their feedback. The same information is also available for people to comment via this website.
We hae now reviewed the feedback and this has informed our proposlas for the redevelopment of the Somerdale site. A hybrid planning application has been submitted to Bath and North East Somerset council for consideration..
